Cambridge

The 10th Visual and Physiological Optics meeting (VPO 2020) will be held in Cambridge, UK from August 24 to August 26, 2020. It is the next of the highly successful VPO meetings that every two years bring together researchers, students, and clinical professionals for a sneak peek into the future of eye research technologies. Speakers from around the world will present their latest innovations in the fields of optics, optometry and vision sciences. There will be a wide range of topics open for discussion, from new advances in ophthalmic instrumentation, adaptive optics and basic science results to clinical applications, myopia and new IOLs designs. As usually in all VPO meetings, highly renown vision scientist will serve in the scientific committee, ensuring lively and enjoyable discussions in a friendly environment.

To specially mark the tenth anniversary of these series of meetings, the Cambridge edition will link participants to the historical roots of the field, at the same locations where giants like Newton, Maxwell and Rayleigh established the principles of Optics. The meeting will be held at Downing College, a superb location in the centre of the city, where participants will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional college accommodation and the historical architecture, buildings and amenities of the city of Cambridge.

Cambridge is well served by all London airports on closed distance. Stansted airport is the closest, just 35 km south Cambridge, with a direct train connection from the Terminal. Budget airlines operate direct flights to Stansted from many European airports. Intercontinental flights operate mainly to London Heathrow airport which is connected to Cambridge by a direct bus service or train (via London).

The meeting is organized by Juan Tabernero (Universidad de Murcia, Spain).

Save the dates. See you in Cambridge!
